Orlando Jones and
Demore Barnes have joined the upcoming small screen adaptation of Neil Gaiman's
American Gods novel, where they will play Mr. Nancy and Mr. Ibis respectively.
Both Old Gods, Jones'
Mr. Nancy or Anansi, is a trickster spider/man from African
folklore, who often makes fun of people for their stupidity, a recurring aspect
of his personality in his old stories, while Barnes' Mr. Ibis or Thoth, is the Ancient Egyptian god of knowledge and writing. He
runs a funeral parlor in Cairo, Illinois. He often writes short
biographies of people who brought folkloric beings with them to America.
