Speaking to DC All Access,
Powerless star Alan Tudyk revealed that in addition to Crimson Fox, the pilot
for the first sitcom set in the DC Comics universe will also feature the Irish
superhero known as Jack O'Lantern.
It's unclear which
version of the character we will see in the pilot for Powerless, if the
original Jack O'Lantern Daniel Cormac or his cousin Liam McHugh who went by
Jack-O-Lantern.
In the first ever comedy series set
in the universe of DC Comics, Vanessa Hudgens plays Emily, a spunky young
insurance adjuster specializing in regular-people coverage against damage
caused by the crime-fighting superheroes. It’s when she stands up to one of
these larger-than-life figures (after an epic battle messes with her commute)
that she accidentally becomes a cult “hero” in her own right … even if it’s
just to her group of lovably quirky co-workers. Now, while she navigates her
normal, everyday life against an explosive backdrop, Emily might just discover
that being a hero doesn’t always require superpowers.
Expected to premiere sometime during
NBC's midseason, the half-hour comedy also stars Danny Pudi, Kate Micucci,
Atlin Mitchell, Christina Kirk, and Nelson Wong.
