The Fault In Our
Stars and Divergent Series star Ansel Elgort is in early negotiations to join Dungeons
& Dragons, the upcoming fantasy movie and possible franchise Warner Bros. is
currently developing based on the well known role-playing game created in 1974.
Goosebumps director
Rob Letterman will direct from a script written by The Conjuring 2 screenwriter
David Leslie Johnson.
For Elgort, Dungeons
& Dragons could be his second major franchise after The Divergent Series,
which failed to leave much of an impression both critically and financially.
Described as a mix
between the tone of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy and the Tolkien Universe
by producer Roy Lee, Dungeons & Dragons is a fantasy adventure centered on a
warrior who goes on a dangerous journey to find a mythical treasure with the
aid of his group of mystical friends.
Vin Diesel, who has been a fan of the role-playing game for well over 20 years, as publicly expressed
interest in joining the project.
