Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling talks about her
latest creation Newt Scamander in a new featurette for David Yates' Fantastic
Beasts And Where To Find Them.
In the film, Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), the wizarding
world’s most preeminent magizoologist, stops in New York following his travels
to find, document, and protect rare and endangered magical creatures that he
stores in his magical briefcase. As you may expect the briefcase opens and some
of the creatures escape threatening the lives of New Yorkers but also the
balance between wizards and the No-Maj (American Muggles).
Opening in theaters on November 18, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them also stars
Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Collin Farrell, Samantha Morton,
Ezra Miller, Jenn Murray, Faith Wood-Blagrove, Jon Voight, and Ron Perlman.
“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander
has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary
array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief
stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj
(American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of
some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the
wizarding and No-Maj worlds.
Looks really fun.
