Fifty Shades
franchise star Dakota Johnson has joined Andrew Garfield in Under the Silver
Lake from It Follows writer/director David Robert Mitchell.
Set to go into
production by the end of the summer, Under the Silver Lake is a modern day noir
crime thriller set in Los Angeles.
Michael De Luca ("The
Social Network") will produce the film alongside Chris Bender ("The
Hangover"), Adele Romanski ("The Myth of the American Sleepover"),
and Jake Weiner.
Johnson has a couple
of projects coming up. The actress will next be seen reprising her role as
Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades Darker, and is currently filming the follow-up
Fifty Shades Freed. She is also attached to Darius Marder's (screenwriter of "The
Place Beyond the Pines") The Sound of Metal opposite Matthias Schoenaerts,
who she recently worked with on A Bigger Splash from director Luca Guadagnino,
who she will be reteaming with for the remake of Dario Argento's 1977 horror
thriller Suspiria opposite Tilda Swinton, who also appeared on
As for Garfield, the
actor he will next be seen in Mel Gibson's Hacksaw Ridge, and Martin Scorsese's
period drama Silence.
