In a recent interview to SkyOne, Danish actor Mads
Mikkelsen might have accidently spilled the beans on the mysterious character
he is playing in the equally mysterious Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, so
spoilers ahead.
According to the actor, who could have been joking or
not, he is playing Felicity Jones' character Jyn Erso's father in the highly anticipated film.
Directed by Gareth Edwards, "Rogue
One takes place before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope and will be a departure from the saga films but have elements that
are familiar to the Star Wars universe. It goes into new territory,
exploring the galactic struggle from a ground-war perspective while maintaining
that essential Star Wars feel that fans have come to know. Gareth is such an innovative
director and I’m so excited to be working with him and the extraordinary
ensemble cast he’s selected for ‘Rogue One.’"
Also starring Ben Mendelsohn, Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, Forest
Whitaker, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Jiang Wen, Genevieve O'Reilly, Alistair
Petrie, and Jonathan Aries, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
opens in theaters on December 16.
