Netflix's has cast Undateable's
Rick Glassman and The Kroll Show's Jon Daly as Harold Ramis and Bill Murray,
respectively, for their upcoming adaptation of Josh Karp's best-selling book A
Futile And Stupid Gesture.
The National Lampoon biopic centers on the career and troubled life of Doug Kenney,
one of the magazine's co-founders, and co-writer of such movies as Animal
House, and Caddyshack, as well as National Lampoon's rise in the comedy world in the '70s and '80s.
Glassman and
Daly join Will Forte as Kenney, Domhnall Gleeson as Henry Beard, Joel McHale as
Chevy Chase, and Thomas Lennon, Martin Mull, Jackie Tohn, and Matt
Walsh in yet undisclosed roles.
Wet Hot American Summer co-creator
David Wain is set to direct the Netflix project from a script by Michael Colton
and John Aboud.
A Futile And Stupid Gesture will hit the streaming
giant in 2017.
