Fox Searchlight has
released the first trailer for Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie, the feature film
continuation of the '90s British television satire comedy starring Jennifer
Saunders and Joanna Lumley, as a pair of outrageous, selfish, drug addicted,
and utterly unhinged party duo.
In the film, Edina
Monsoon (Saunders) and Patsy Stone (Lumley) go on the run to the French Riviera
after perhaps killing Kate Moss.
Opening in theaters
on July 22, Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie also stars and/or cameos Julia
Sawalha, Celia Imrie, Kathy Burke, Jane Horrocks, Dawn French, Kate Moss, Rebel
Wilson, Cara Delevingne, Gwendoline Christie, Joan Collins, Chris Colfer, Emma
Bunton, Jon Hamm, Lily Cole, Suki Waterhouse, Alexa Chung, Dame Edna, Kim
Kardashian, and Jerry Hall.
Appropriate for their
big screen debut, Edina and Patsy (Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley) are
still oozing glitz and glamour, living the high life they are accustomed to;
shopping, drinking and clubbing their way around London’s trendiest hotspots.
Blamed for a major incident at an uber fashionable launch party, they become
entangled in a media storm and are relentlessly pursued by the paparazzi.
Fleeing penniless to the glamorous playground of the super-rich, the French
Riviera, they hatch a plan to make their escape permanent and live the high
life forever more!
