Every so often, we hear
actors and directors claiming that project x will be their last and that they
will retire from the business afterwards and go and do something else, only to
comeback. One of the most recent examples of this, or at least one of the most
talked about, is Quentin Tarantino, who from time to time likes to entertain
the idea that he will stop after reaching his tenth movie, which he technically
already has, but who is counting.
Regardless, with eight movies
down and only two left to go until the he reaches his goal, the filmmaker is
already thinking about what to do next.
"I think I’ve done all the ones that I’ve had a
burning desire to do" he told IGN. "A couple of things left that
would be fun is I like the idea of doing a ‘30s gangster movie, so like
Dillinger or Bonnie and Clyde kind of stuff. That’d be kind of cool. And I like
the idea of doing a Hollywood movie one of these days. A movie that takes place
in Hollywood. Maybe not now, but in a different era. That
could be really cool."
Tarantino making a ‘30s gangster movie seems very
interesting, but the idea that screams Tarantino is the one set in Hollywood,
mainly because of the filmmaker's known love of cinema.
Late last year, Tarantino also amused the idea of making
a horror movie, but immediately backtracked saying it would be difficult and
perhaps pointless since he would have to shelve his sense of humor just to be
able to strike a tone fitting of a horror movie.
