Magic, horror, and a docudrama. Three distinctively different
genres, three new images from three movies that will premiere next year.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them stars Eddie
Redmayne as the wizarding world’s preeminent
magizoologist, who stops in New York following his travels to find, document,
and protect rare and endangered magical creatures which he stores in his
magical briefcase. As you may expect the briefcase is opened and some of the
creatures escape threatening the lives of New Yorkers but also the balance
between wizards and the No-Maj (American Muggles).
Directed by David Yates and also
starring Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Collin Farrell,
Samantha Morton, Ezra Miller, Jenn Murray, Faith Wood-Blagrove, Jon Voight, and
Ron Perlman, Fantastic Beasts and
Where to Find Them opens on November 18.
In The Conjuring 2 returning director James Wan sends
Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) to 1977 England to
help Peggy Hodgson (Frances O'Connor) a single mother of four, specifically Janet
(Madison Wolfe) the daughter.
The Conjuring 2 opens on June 10 and also stars Simon
McBurney, Sterling Jerins, and Maria Doyle Kennedy.
Directed by Peter Berg, Deepwater
Horizon chronicles the true moments of the crew working aboard the BP oilrig
that on April 20, 2010 exploded and quickly became one of the biggest man-made
disasters in the world.
Opening on September 30, Deepwater
Horizon also stars John Malkovich, Dylan O'Brien, Gine Rodriguez, Kurt Russell,
and Kate Hudson.
