Pixar Goes For The Tears In New Clip From The Good Dinosaur

Pixar has released new clip from their long overdue animation, The Good Dinosaur, featuring a bonding moment between Arlo voiced by Raymond Ochoa and his father Poppa voiced by Jeffrey Wright.

In and of itself the clip doesn't make you go for the tissue box, but if you have seen the trailers (spoilers) then you probably know what horrible thing comes next, Poppa and Arlo get tragically separated. The clip reminds me of the moment in The Lion King when Mufasa talks to Simba about the kings of the past, but also that truly heartfelt and ominous moment at the beginning of The Land Before Time when the narrator tells a five year old me that Littlefoot and his mother will be together forever, LIAR!

Directed by Peter Sohn's (Partly Cloudy) The Good Dinosaur is set in an alternate universe where the meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs missed Earth entirely, The Good Dinosaur tells the story of an Apatosaurus named Arlo voiced by Raymond Ochoa (Monsters University) who sets out on a remarkable journey with an unlikely companion, a human boy.

Opening on November 25, The Good Dinosaur also features the voices of Steve Zahn, A.J. Buckley, Anna Paquin, Sam Elliot, Frances McDormand, Marcus Scribner, and Jack Bright.

“The Good Dinosaur” asks the generations-old question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? In theaters November 25, 2015, the film is a humorous and exciting original story about Arlo, a lively Apatosaurus with a big heart. After a traumatic event unsettles Arlo’s family, he sets out on a remarkable journey, gaining an unlikely companion along the way – a human boy. “The Good Dinosaur” is an extraordinary journey of self-discovery full of thrilling adventure, hilarious characters and poignant heart.
