Academy Award winning actor Christian Bale is currently in talks to star in
Michael Mann's adaptation of the 1991 book titled Enzo Ferrari: The Man, The
Cars, The Race, The Machine, written by Brock Yates, and chronicles the rise
of the "hot-tempered megalomaniac" automotive mogul.
The project is being developed with the Toronto Film Festival in mind, and the hopes that once there it can get buyers and financiers.
Dramas about the auto industry have never been big box office winners, and
with Mann's Blackhat bombing in theaters, Ferrari: The Man… may never get made.
Blackhat made nearly $18 million on a production budget of $70 million.
