Chris Pine has
officially joined Gal Gadot in Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman, where he will play the
heroine's love interest Steve Trevor, a USAF pilot that during a mission, crash-lands on Paradise
Island, home of the Amazons.
With plot details under lock
and key, The Wrap reports that "Trevor will be no mere love
interest for Gadot’s Diana Prince, as there will be plenty of action to keep him
busy."
Frankly,
Pine's casting in Wonder Woman comes as a surprise because he was rumored to be
up for a lead or co-lead role in the upcoming Green Lantern reboot, or was he?
According to The Wrap, no. The rumor that Pine was being offered a role in
Green Lantern was a smokescreen, though I'm not sure what Warner was trying to
hide.
