Despite other problematic productions such as Brave, or Toy Story 2,
Pixar's The Good Dinosaur may just be the most troublesome yet. After removing director
Bob Peterson from the project and give a complete overhaul to the story, it
looked like the only thing left untouched was the voice cast, which featured
the talent of Lucas Neff, Bill Hader, Neil Patrick Harris, Judy Greer, John Lithgow,
and Frances McDormand.
Well, no!
Pixar has released the complete voice cast for the upcoming animation and
some major changes have happened. Of the original voice cast only Frances
McDormand remains, with the rest of the voice work now being done by Raymond
Ochoa, Jeffrey Wright, Steve Zahn, AJ Buckley, Sam Elliott, Anna Paquin, Marcus
Scribner, and Jack Bright.
This quite significant and last minute change is a testament to the changes
Pixar and new director Peter Sohn gave the project, but with a November 25th release
date looming over their heads, will the project be finished on time, and will
it be good?
Here is the official voice cast for The Good Dinosaur:
Raymond Ochoa (The Night Shift)
provides the voice of an Apatosaurus named Arlo.
Jeffrey Wright (The Hunger Games:
Mockingjay) was tapped as the voice of Poppa, Arlo’s father.
Steve Zahn (Rescue Dawn) provides the voice of
a pterodactyl named Thunderclap.
AJ Buckley (Justified) voices a T-Rex called
Nash.
Anna Paquin (True Blood) is the voices of T-Rex
Ramsey.
Sam Elliott (Justified) was called on as the
voice of a tough T-Rex named Butch.
Frances McDormand (Fargo) was
tapped as the voice of Momma, Arlo’s mother.
Marcus Scribner (black-ish)
voices Arlo’s brother Buck.
Jack Bright (Monsters University) provides the
voice of Arlo’s unlikely human friend, Spot.
