The adaptation of Brian
Michael Bendis and Michael Avon's Powers for Sony's PlayStation Network proved to be a success, and so much so that it already received a second season
order, which will air in 2016.
"The reception to Powers has
been incredible, and we are thrilled to have successfully launched a platform
for original content with the PlayStation gamer in mind," said John
Koller, VP of Platforms Marketing at Sony Computer Entertainment America. "We
believe original content will continue to be a key pillar as we broaden the
value proposition for PlayStation Plus, and we’re excited for what’s to come
with season two of Powers."
Powers stars Sharlto Copley,
Susan Heyward, Eddie Izzard, Olesya Rulin, Noah Taylor, Max Fowler, Adam
Godley, and Michelle Forbes.
When one of the key members of a popular super group is found violently
murdered, the events that follow unveil the federal governments multi layered
control of the superhero elite and how far they will go to cover up. Walker (Copley)
and Pilgrim (Heyward) are forced to make choices that will forever change their
lives and careers...and how the world at large will see their heroes.
