In a move that would
put Marvel to shame (*cough*Ant-Man*cough*), Warner Bros. has found a
replacement to director Michelle MacLaren, who just a few days ago left the Wonder
Woman standalone film.
According to The
Hollywood Reporter, Patty Jenkins (Monster) has been brought onboard to direct
the first Wonder Woman standalone film starring Gal Gadot in the titular role.
Jenkins is (partially)
no stranger to the superhero genre. The director was previously hired by Marvel
to helm Thor: The Dark World, but left the project citing creative differences
for the departure. Let's hope Warner Bros. is a better fit for the director.
Wonder Woman hits
theaters on June 23, 2017.
