Kevin Smith is on a role with casting announcements
for the Mallrats sequel. After revealing that Shanned
Doherty, Jason Lee, Ethan Suplee, Jason Mewes, Kevin Smith, Jeremy London,
Renée Humphrey, Joey Lauren Adams, Sven-Ole Thorsen, and Scott Mosier would be
reprising their roles from the first film, Smith has now announced that two old
friends are returning, Walt Flanagan, and Bryan Johnson.
In the 1995 film Flanagan played a
character named Walt "Fan Boy" Grover, who gets involved in a heated
argument with Jason Lee's Brodie Bruce character, after Steve-Dave Pulasti
tells him to take it easy before he has him removed from the mall.
Both characters have since appeared
in other projects from Smith's shared universe like Chasing Amy, Clerks (cartoon),
and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.
Rejoice, @TellEmSteveDave Ants! Steve-Dave & The Fanboy are going back to the MALL, y'all! 13 down, now 5 to go! #MR2 pic.twitter.com/47lJT2cmAB
