Sony pictures is prepping to develop a big screen adaptation of H.G. Wells
classic 1897's sci-fi novella The Invisible Man, which followed a brilliant scientist
named Griffin, who discovers a way to become invisible, but fails to revert the
process.
According to the Tracking Board the film Sony is currently developing
is "a new spin that will make the Invisible Man the villain of the film,
with the audience following the hero that is tasked to hunt him down."
This
concept isn't entirely new. In 2000 director Paul Verhoeven directed
Hollow Man, which followed a brilliant scientist played by Kevin Bacon, who after
turning invisible and failing to revert the process goes on a killing spree.
Divergent
producers, Lucy Fisher, and Doug Wick are in charge of the project.
