Though it was only a few days ago
that Marvel announced that the Daredevil TV series had been picked up for a
second season, star Charlie Cox already assembled a list of new characters he would
like to see appear in it.
Based on the show we’ve created, which is very
grounded in reality, I’d like to see Punisher maybe show up, a little bit of
Elektra maybe. I wouldn’t mind Black Widow making an appearance, and you can’t
think about Daredevil for too long without thinking of Bullseye. I don’t know
when or if or how that would happen, but it’d be cool if it did.
The first season showrunner Steven S.
DeKnight had already teased that Bullseye and Elektra would appear if the show
was ever picked for another season. The Punisher has been a character that fans have
been begging to see again on the either the big or small screens. As for Black
Widow, the chances of her appearing in the series are probably slim to none
considering Scarlett Johansson has a fixed amount of appearances in her
contract and it's doubtful Marvel would sacrifice one on the Netflix series.
Cox also revealed when he expects to
start shooting the second season, and when he expects the new season to come
out.
We’ll begin shooting in the second half of the year. It’ll
be the same timeline as the last show, so season two will come out about this
time next year. Again, I’m imagining all this, but they’ll probably do Iron
Fist or Luke Cage at the same time, followed by the other one [of the two] in
the first half of 2016 and then maybe Defenders in the second half of 2016 or
the beginning of 2017.
