It looks like Marvel's surprise hit
Guardians of the Galaxy will influence what's ahead for the studio in more ways
than one.
Speaking to Collider, Michael
Douglas, who plays Hank Pym in the film, revealed that Ant-Man's tone will be more
similar to Guardians of the Galaxy.
I have not seen it yet. I’ve
just been doing looping and ADR stuff, and they’ve run some sequences. It’s a
lot of fun to see it. It’s much more like Guardians of the Galaxy,
with the humor. It’s just funny, against all of this grandiose stuff, that
there’s Ant-Man. It’s getting a great response.
Ant-Man opens on July
17, and will star Paul Rudd as con-man Scott Lang, who with the help of
his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), must protect the secret behind his
spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly
insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will
save the world.
