After some ups and downs in
the superhero world, Ryan Reynolds is finally ready to go solo as Deadpool in next
year's live-action(?)/performance capture(?) film. While at the Sundance Film
Festival promoting his latest film Mississippi Grind, Reynolds spoke with MTV
about the project and revealed among other things that he didn't leaked the
Deadpool test footage, but would have if he knew it would serve as the catalyst
for the film finally get made.
"It's been a long time, and it's happening the
right way and that's all that matters," the actor said. "We don't have
the kind of money that most superhero movies do but that's great. Necessity is
the mother of invention and that's why we get to make the kind of movie we want
to make."
Not of his own fault, but Reynolds doesn't have the best record when it comes to comic book adaptations, so "You've got to just have faith in the people you're working with and
have faith in the prep. That's all I'm doing; on this one, the prep's been
eleven years."
