According to Global News,
Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds will be returning home to Vancouver to start
filming the X-Men spin-off, Deadpool. According to the site, production is
expected to start in late March.
This will be the fifth time the
actor will star in a comic book franchise. His first comic book adaptation was Blade
Trinity in 2004, where he played Hannibal King. In 2009, the actor starred
opposite Hugh Jackman in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which was when he first
played Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool. In 2011, Reynolds switched sides and led the poorly
received Green Lantern as Hal Jordan. Finally, in 2013 he co-starred with Jeff
Bridges in the equally poorly received R.I.P.D.
Deadpool is scheduled to open
on December 12, 2016.
