Last year Mondo CEO Justin Ishmael revealed that there were plans to
release an Iron Giant collectible. Today Mondo announced that the deluxe
figure, which is available for pre-order will set you back $300, which judging
by the fan base this film has won't be a problem. There isn't a limit to the
pre-orders, however Mondo will also be releasing a 250 unit limited edition
Hand Under Foot edition for an additional $15. This edition consists of the
same figure but with the detachable hand that in the Brad Bird film wanders
around Hogarth's house.
"The figure features over 30 points of articulation and a variety of
accessories allowing you to transform the Iron Giant into all of his notable
incarnations. You’ll receive two interchangeable heads with light-up eyes, a
magnetic “S” that can be detached from a Seafood sign and attached to his chest,
switch-out “War Arm” when things get tense, a Hogarth mini-figure that sits
perfectly in his hand, and of course, a girder to munch on. Additionally, the
figure includes a sound feature with favorite Iron Giant quotes from the film."
