Deadline recently caught up with The
Terminator, and Terminator 2: Judgment Day director James Cameron at the LA's
Egyptian Theater for the 30th anniversary of the franchise.
The director revealed that he isn't
connected in any shape or form to the new film, but says that he gave Genisys
producer David Ellison some friendly advice on how to integrate an 67 year old
Arnold Schwarzenegger into the upcoming film.
“I
pointed out that the outer covering (of the Terminator) was actually not
synthetic, that it was organic and therefore could age. You could theoretically
have a Terminator that was sent back in time, missed his target, and ended up just kind of living on in
society. Because he is a learning computer and has a brain as a central
processor he could actually become more human as he went along without getting
discovered.”
Opening on July 1, 2015 Terminator Genisys stars
Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke as John Connor, Arnold
Schwarzenegger as T-800, Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, Dayo Okeniyi as Miles
Dyson, Byung-hun Lee, Michael Gladis, Sandrine Holt, J.K. Simmons, and Douglas
Smith.
