Rumors: More Details On Luke Skywalker In Star Wars: Episode VII

The amount of "scoops" without sources, script changes, and director J.J. Abrams quest for mystery, makes it hard to discern between speculation and fact when it comes to Star Wars: Episode VII news.

Now a new "scoop" comes and gives a new spin on the previous rumor about Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker character, which stated that Luke hadn't been seen since the events of Return of the Jedi because he was being held captive, and that he would ultimately save the day but in a bad way.

Well that was the previous rumor, offered by the Latino Review, but now This Is Famous offers a different take on why the character is missing.

"From what I’ve been told, Luke hasn’t been missing for a full 30 years, only about 10, with his early time post-RETURN OF THE JEDI being spent rebuilding the Jedi Order. Yeah, Luke had some things to do, in order to help get things back on track after the fall of the Empire. In addition, he has grown so powerful with his command of the Force that he can literally move mountains or bring down ships with merely a glance. But then Luke begins to feel a disturbance in the Force… and starts to feel the lure of the Dark Side. If word about the Emperor’s resurgence is true, I believe his presence and desire to court young Skywalker once again is the root of this new evil. Because he knows just what a danger he would be if successfully convinced to switch sides, Luke goes into a self-imposed exile and disappears."

Star Wars: Episode VII opens on December 18, 2015 and stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, Lupita Nyong'o, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Crystal Clarke, Pip Anderson, and Miltos Yerolemou.
