THR has learned that 20th Century Fox has picked up Mark Millar's comic
series Superior to adapt for a feature film. Millar's longtime collaborator Matthew
Vaughn will act as producer for the film that is currently searching for a
screenwriter.
The seven issue series was created by Millar and Leinil Francis Yu back in
2010, and is described as:
"Simon Pooni had it
all going for him – plenty of friends at school and good looks, and his coach
called him one of the most talented basketball players he's ever seen. But that
was when he could still move his legs. Now, he's living with multiple sclerosis,
missing all the little things he used to take for granted, and escaping into
the world of movies and comics with his best friend. Then…SUPERIOR entered his life."
This will be Millar's
fifth creation to be adapted to the big screen. Superior joins Starlight,
Nemesis and Kindergarten Heroes, which are currently in development and The Secret
Service, which hits theaters on October 24th.
