Karen Gillan Says "there's a big girlie fight sequence" With Zoe Saldana In Guardians of the Galaxy

I usually start of a Guardians of the Galaxy post by saying, that this one will be Marvel’s biggest gamble yet, but now after seeing the trailer I’m confident that it will be a hit, which will not only introduce new characters and a new story but also will for the first time in Marvel’s cinematic history introduce a female villain in the form of Nebula played by Doctor Who’s Amy Pond, actress Karen Gillan.

In an interview to MTV the actress gave a little tease about what we can expect from the film. She said that Nebula and Gamora, played by Zoe Saldana will have “a big girlie fight sequence”. (trying to appeal at the male audience?)

"Yeah, there's a big girlie fight sequence, but it's not that girlie," said Gillian. "They made sure there weren't any nice pirouettes or anything like that….(Zoe) is really experienced in the physical stuff, she was a ballerina. She's really amazing at all of that stuff. She barely required any rehearsal, she was like, 'I can do this.' I required two months of rehearsals every day that I wasn't shooting, because I looked like spaghetti when I started….This is the integral one for my character, because it's not just a physical battle. Their relationship goes very deep, and there's a huge history between them. So there's a lot more to it than just the physical."

So ready, set, go! Who will win, Gamora or Nebula?

Directed by James Gunn Guardians of the Galaxy stars Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Ophelia Lovibond, Benicio Del Toro, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, Djimon Honsou, Gregg Henry, Glenn Close, John C. Reilly, Peter Serafinowicz and opens on August 1st.
