2013 BAFTA Winners

Here are the winners for this year’s British Academy Film Award (BAFTA), and only one surprise, Barkhad Abdi took home the award for best supporting actor in Paul Greengrass’ Captain Phillips. Director Alfonso Cuarón took the best director statue once again and so did 12 Years a Slave for best picture, maintaining this year’s award trend. Jennifer Lawrence won best supporting actress for American Hustle, Chiwetel Ejiofor won best actor for 12 Years and Cate Blanchett adds another award for her performance in Blue Jasmine.

Best Original Screenplay – American Hustle, Eric Warren Singer and David O. Russell

Best Cinematography – Gravity, Emmanuel Lubezki

Best Documentary – The Act of Killing

Best Animated Feature – Frozen

Best Music – Gravity, Steven Price

Best British Film – Gravity

Best Editing – Rush

Best Production Design – The Great Gatsby

Best Costume Design – The Great Gatsby

Best Sound – Gravity

Best Visual FX - Gravity

Best Hair & Make – American Hustle

Best British Short, Live Action – Room 8

Best British Short, Animation – Sleeping with the Fishes
