After director Jon M. Chu
dropped out of the Masters of the Universe reboot, things went quiet, but now a
shortlist of possible directors promises to revitalize the interest on the
project and perhaps start moving on with production.
As is the list includes directors
Harald Zwart (The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones), Chris McKay (The Lego
Movie - editor) and Mike Cahill (Another Earth) as the frontrunners, but The
Wrap adds director Jeff Wadlow (Kick-Ass 2 and X-Force - rumored).
For the young ones Masters of the
Universe was a Mattel toyline that received an 80’s animated tv series. Set on
the planet Eternia, Master of the Universe “follows a blond warrior named
Prince Adam who turns into the heroic He-Man and battles a villain named
Skeletor out to conquer Castle Grayskull.”
