The final season of True Blood
will be starting on the wrong foot now that actor Luke Grimes who played the
vampire James is leaving the show, which forces the showrunners to cast a new
actor to fill in the shoes for the final season.
When I say that the show will
start on the wrong foot isn’t entirely due to the actor leaving, which isn’t a
good thing but its more about why he is leaving.
The actor was recently cast in
the upcoming 50 Shades of Grey adaptation, so that was the reason everyone
though was behind the decision of the actor departure from the series but as
it turns out the reason why the actor asked to be released from his contract was
because he didn’t like the scripts for season 7, in particular the way his
character was going.
Now of course fans of the show
will no doubt take notice of the actor departure, and it’s always a weird thing
to have a character be played by two different actors, but Grimes’ character
James wasn’t necessarily pivotal to the story so a new actor probably won’t
cause much of stir.
By now the show has been losing
more than actors, it has been losing some of its audience and shall I say it…quality,
so I wonder if the showrunners will be able to overcome said script issues and
deliver a satisfying final season.
