Director Zack Snyder is trying hard to think outside the box in his cast for Batman vs. Superman. First was Ben Affleck, whose first try at the superhero genre with Daredevil ended up being a disaster, but now is playing an older and veteran Batman, then was the Fast & Furious actress Gal Gadot, who is virtually unknown but will the first actress to play Wonder Woman on the big screen, now it seems that the director is interested in Joaquin Phoenix, who returned this year to the big screen after four years pursuing other interests.
According to Variety director Zack Snyder, who begins
production on Batman vs. Superman early next year has extended an offer to the
actor to play? Who knows? The main rumor is that it is to play Lex Luthor who
was referenced in one of many Man of Steel easter eggs.
But let’s not forget of Callan Mulvey and Jason Momoa,
whom apparently are also being eyed to play some major character like Doomsday,
Metallo or maybe Martian Manhunter.
One thing we know, at the beginnings of Man Steel
there were a lot of rumors saying that Lex Luthor would be the villain and that
actors like Bryan Cranston were being eyed or were in talks for the part, and
who did we found out? General Zod, so maybe Luthor will be in the film or maybe
Snyder will throw us of course with another character.
