Here is the first image from
Morten Tyldum’s The Imitation Game starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Keira
Knightly, Mark Strong, Matthew Goode, Rory Kinnear, Charles Dance, Allen Leech,
and Matthew Beard.
The film centers on Cumberbatch’s
character, the British mathematician and cryptographer, Alan Turing that broke
the German enigma code during WWII and was subsequently prosecuted by his own
government for the charges of “gross
indecency”, aka being homosexual and sentenced to chemical castration. Two
years later Turing committed suicide at the age of 41.
This image was sent via twitter
on the 24th of December this year, three days ago which incidentally
it’s the same day that Turing received a posthumous pardon for his 1952 conviction
for being homosexual.
In honor of today’s Royal Pardon,
please find the first still released from the upcoming film, The Imitation Game.
