Caps next adventure in the big screen will introduce quite
a few of new characters, The Winter Soldier, Batroc The Leaper and the
mercenary and villain for hire Brock Rumlow, aka Crossbones.
Actor Frank Grillo, who plays Crossbones recently
spoke with CO, and confided that this won’t be the last we see of many of the
characters seen in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
"It’s an origin film. You meet people who are
going to be around for a while, so they introduce the characters. It’s almost
like it’s a series. It’s fun. I can’t say very much about it because Marvel’s
very strict about what you’re allowed to say. The movie, we’ve seen bits of it,
and it is spectacular."
He may be talking about Anthony Mackie’s The Falcon,
who might appear in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but what about Crossbones, will we
see more of him in future films?
"They do actually. We’ll see what happens. We’ll
see if the fans respond to Brock and how it goes."
Grillo also spoke about the “opportunity” to work on a
Marvel film.
"For any actor, it’s huge and you really get an
understanding of that when you see guys like [Robert] Redford show up to do a
role. What’s happening now is I think since all the Marvel movies had such a
wide range of viewers globally that you’d be crazy not to want to be involved
on some level with the Marvel people. They do it like nobody else. For me it’s
a great opportunity because it’s an international film. It
just raises your exposure that much more."
Directing Captain America: The Winter Soldier are Anthony
and Joe Russo, and the film also stars Chris Evans (Steve Rogers/Captain
America), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow), Samuel L. Jackson
(Nick Fury), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Maximiliano Hernández (Agent Jasper
Sitwell) Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier), Anthony Mackie (Sam
Wilson/The Falcon), Toby Jones (Arnim Zola), George St. Pierre (Batroc the
Leaper) Emily VanCamp (Sharon
Carter/Agent 13) and Robert Redford as Alexander Pierce the head of
S.H.I.E.L.D.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier is schedule to
open on April 4th, 2014.
