Chris Cooper Talks Norman Osborne And Sinister 6 In The Amazing Spider-Man 2


The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will through the appearances of certain character expand on the franchise and set the tone for the third and fourth films. At this point it pretty much a given that the villain team known as Sinister Six will have some of its members introduced in this new installment. Some will be full fledge, in your face (or Spideys face) villains while others will like fly’s and observe the story as it progresses. One of such characters is Norman Osborn, aka Green Goblin played by actor Chris Cooper.

In an interview to MTV for the promotion of August Osage County, the actor spoke about the “odd introduction” that his character will have.   

"Spider-Man 2 was an introduction to Norman," Cooper said "And … you'll see … an extremely odd introduction, which apparently will lead to something more."

Regarding the Sinister Six, Cooper said:
"They sent me some material, but they said also that this Spider-Man is its own Spider-Man. We're just kind of starting from the beginning."



Marc Webb helmed The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which also stars Andrew Garfield (Spider-Man), Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy), Jamie Fox (Electro), Dane DeHaan (Harry Osborn), Paul Giamatti (Rhino), Sally Field (Aunt May), Martin Sheen (Uncle Ben), Colm Feore (The Vulture - rumor), B.J. Novak, Brian Haley (Phil Watson), Martin Csokas (Dr. Kafka) and Felicity Jones.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens on the 18th of April 2014.

In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.
