The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will through the appearances
of certain character expand on the franchise and set the tone for the third and
fourth films. At this point it pretty much a given that the villain team known
as Sinister Six will have some of its members introduced in this new installment.
Some will be full fledge, in your face (or Spideys face) villains while others
will like fly’s and observe the story as it progresses. One of such characters
is Norman Osborn, aka Green Goblin played by actor Chris Cooper.
In an interview to MTV for the promotion of August
Osage County, the actor spoke about the “odd introduction” that his character
will have.
"Spider-Man 2 was an introduction to
Norman," Cooper said "And … you'll see … an extremely odd
introduction, which apparently will lead to something more."
Regarding the Sinister Six, Cooper said:
"They sent me some material, but they said also
that this Spider-Man is its own Spider-Man. We're just kind of starting from
the beginning."
Marc Webb helmed The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which also
stars Andrew Garfield (Spider-Man), Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy), Jamie Fox
(Electro), Dane DeHaan (Harry Osborn), Paul Giamatti (Rhino), Sally Field (Aunt
May), Martin Sheen (Uncle Ben), Colm Feore (The Vulture - rumor), B.J. Novak,
Brian Haley (Phil Watson), Martin Csokas (Dr. Kafka) and Felicity Jones.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens on the 18th of April
2014.
