If you haven’t seen Iron Man 3 go and watch it, cry your fan heart out and then come back and read the rest, then again if you’re a fan you already seen it then its all good.
In
Iron Man 3 actor Ben Kingsley plays the Mandarin, a villainous and despicable
international terrorist, with genius level intellect and ten rings of power,
which grant him all sorts of power, wait…no, in Iron Man 3 actor Ben Kingsley
plays a drug addict actor named Trevor Slattery, who is playing The Mandarin, a
villainous and despicable international terrorist, who is a front for the film
real villain, Aldrich Killian played by Guy Pearce.
Many
fans spoke in outrage by the director’s choice in turning Iron Man’s main
arch-enemy in the comics into a punch line to an overgrown and flat joke, but
despite this and other problems, Iron Man 3 was massive box-office success.
Originally Slattery/Mandarin was supposed to die at the end of the film, but
somehow and not that at this point it matters he was kept alive by the writers
and director, and now it seems that he might be back has one of Marvel’s “One-Shots”
shorts.
While
promoting Ender’s Game, the actor told the Belfast Telegraph, that he shot “a
secret Marvel project. I’m not allowed to say any more, you’re going to have to
wait and see,”
With
this little piece of news many are now speculating that like Captain America’s
Agent Carter, he too will have a “One-Shot”. Having the character appear again seems
rather pointless since after we discover that Kinsley isn’t really the Mandarin
but a guy playing the Mandarin, the whole thing in my opinion comes crumbling
down, besides he already play his part as a gag in the film what else does he
have to offer to the story? It’s not like he really is the Mandarin, or isn’t
he…
