The adaptation of author R.L. Stine’s popular horror book series for children Goosebumps seems to be moving forward, now that actor and musician Jack Black is in talks to star in the adaptation by Sony and Scholastic Media.
If
Black goes on to star in the adaptation, he will be re-teaming with Gulliver’s
Travels director Rob Letterman and he will be playing a “Stine-like author whose scary
characters literally leap off the page, forcing him to hide from his own creepy
creations.”
So it
isn’t a “real” adaptation is more of a “based off” kind of thing, and this
sounds like a terrible idea for a movie, but because the book series is
currently the second most successful in the world, only being surpassed by
Harry Potter, there are plenty of current, past and maybe future fans waiting
to see it.
