Here
are some new images from Terry Gilliam’s The Zero Theorem, starring Christoph
Waltz, Matt Damon, Tilda Swinton, Ben Wishaw, Peter Stormare and David Thewlis.
The
Zero Theorem it’s like his previous 1985 film Brazil, not really sci-fi, says
Gilliam: ”It’s not really sci-fi. It’s like Brazil, which also isn’t sci-fi”.
In the picture we can see a bald Christoph Waltz “waiting for a phone call that
will give meaning to his life”.
Gilliam
is known for his visual extravaganza, but according to the director this movie
cost less than 10 million to make, which is the least expensive movie he made
in over three decades. Gilliam also spoke about what directors Steven Spielberg
and George Lucas about the impending implosion in the movie industry, regarding
the massive budgets and marketing.
“You
keep waiting to see what’s going to be the new Cleopatra, the one that suddenly
takes out a studio,” says Gilliam. “That’s the part I don’t quite understand
about this, these economics and how they are able to survive with losing this
amount of money as often as they are doing it.”
The
Zero Theorem opens in 2014.
