Chris Obi ("American Gods"), Shazad Latif ("Penny Dreadful"), and relative newcomer Mary Chieffo have joined the cast of CBS' upcoming Star Trek television series Discovery as Klingons.

According to EW, Obi will play T'Kuvma, a Klingon leader seeking to unite the various Klingon houses. Latif will play Kol, a Klingon Commanding Officer and protégé of T'Kuvma. And Chieffo will play L'Rell, the Battle Deck Commander of a Klingon ship.

The trio of actors joins Doug Jones as Lt. Stamets, and astromycologist, i.e. a fungus expert, who is the Starfleet Science Officer aboard the Starship Discovery.
