20th Century Fox has released
a couple of new clips from Tim Burton's upcoming fantasy adventure film Miss
Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, featuring Miss Alma LeFay Perigrine (Eva
Green) explaining what it means to be a Ymbryne, and Jacob Portman (Asa
Butterfield) and Emma Bloom (Elle Purnell) going up against the villainous Barron
(Samuel L. Jackson).
Based on Ransom Riggs
best-selling novel of the same name, the film follows Jake, a 16-year-boy
plagued with nightmares following a family tragedy. Told by his therapist to go
on a journey to find an abandoned orphanage where his late grandfather claimed
he once lived, Jake discovers that the place acts as a magical gateway to an
alternate world where children with peculiarities are taken care of by a
magical guardian played by Eva Green, who protects them from monsters known as
hollows.
Opening on September
30th, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children also stars Terence
Stamp, Chris O'Dowd, Judi Dench, Kim Dickens, Allison Janney, and Rupert
Everett.
From visionary director Tim
Burton, and based upon the best-selling novel, comes an
unforgettable motion picture experience. When his beloved grandfather
leaves Jake clues to a mystery that spans different worlds and times, he finds
a magical place known as Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. But the
mystery and danger deepen as he gets to know the residents and learns about
their special powers… and their powerful enemies. Ultimately, Jake discovers
that only his own special “peculiarity” can save his new friends.
