The Boys Are Back In T2: Trainspotting Teaser

Twenty years after the release of his acclaimed breakthrough drama, Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle reunites the original cast of Trainspotting Ewen Bremner (Spud), Jonny Lee Miller (Sick Boy), Ewan McGregor (Renton), and Robert Carlyle (Begbie) for T2: Trainspotting.

Here is a little taste of the highly anticipated reunion. 

Based on Porno by author Irvine Welsh, it is unclear how close to the author's follow-up to Trainspotting the film will be, but in the novel, which is set ten years after the events of the first story, Sick Boy (Miller) return to Edinburgh after having failed as a hustler, pimp, husband, father and businessman in London. "Sick Boy taps into an opportunity which to him represents one last throw of the dice. However, to realize his dream of directing and producing a pornographic movie, Sick Boy must team up with old pal and fellow exile Mark Renton. In the world of Porno, though, nothing is straightforward, as Sick Boy and Renton find out that they have unresolved issues to address concerning the increasingly unhinged Frank Begbie, the troubled, drug-addled Spud, but, most of all, with each other."

T2: Trainspotting opens in U.K. theaters on January 27, 2017.
