Similarly to his
character in this year's Star Wars movie Rogue One, we do not know much about
Mads Mikkelsen's villainous character in Marvel's Doctor Strange. Up until this
point, the only details we know about the actor's mysterious character in the
film is that he is a sorcerer called Kaecilius, who breaks off from the Ancient
One's (Tilda Swinton) sect to form his own under the believe that the world
would be better off if otherworldly creatures were allowed to come to our
dimension.
Today, Marvel Comics
released the first part of a prequel comic to the film written by Will Corona
Pilgrim and with art by Jorge Fornes. According to the synopsis provided by
Comixology and images from ComicBook.com, the prequel reveals that Kaecilius
was at one point a high-ranking sorcerer who fought alongside Benedict Wong's
Wong and the mystics and who unlike the others wields a pair of scythe-like
daggers as weapons.
