MGM and Paramount Pictures have released a new trailer for Timur
Bekmambetov's ("Wanted") new adaptation of author Lew Wallace 1880's
biblical epic Ben-Hur.
The new take on Wallace's novel follows the story of Judah Ben-Hur (Jack
Huston), a prince
falsely accused of treason by his adopted brother Messala (Toby Kebbell).
Stripped of his title, separated from his family and of the woman he loves
(Nazanin Boniadi), Judah is sent into slavery. After years of working at
sea, Judah returns home to seek revenge, but finds
redemption.
In addition to the new trailer, Paramount also released a quick featurette
that goes behind-the-scenes at the iconic Chariot Race.
Set to open in theaters on August 12, Ben-Hur also
stars Pilou Asbaek, Morgan Freeman,
Moises Arias, Ayelet Zurer, and Rodrigo Santoro.
