The Weinstein Company
has released the first trailer for John Lee Hancock's ("The Blind Side",
"Saving Mr. Banks") The Founder, a docudrama about the dark story
behind the McDonald's fast-food empire.

Siegel ("The Wrestler") and Hancock, The Founder stars Michael Keaton
as Ray Kroc, a sleazy businessman who in the '50s came across Mac and Dick
McDonald's fast-food operation, and eventually slither his way into a position
where he was able to pull the company from the brothers and create the
McDonald's we know today.
Opening in theaters
on August 5, The Founder also stars Nick Offerman, John Caroll Lynch, Linda
Cardellini, Laura Dern, and BJ Novak.

Siegel (BIG FAN), THE FOUNDER is a drama that tells the true story of how Ray
Kroc (Michael Keaton), a salesman from Illinois, met Mac and Dick McDonald, who
were running a burger operation in 1950s Southern California. Kroc was
impressed by the brothers’ speedy system of making the food and saw franchise
potential. He maneuvered himself into a position to be able to pull the company
from the brothers and create a billion-dollar empire.
