Fox Searchlight has
released the trailer for A Bigger Splash, the latest project from Italian
filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, who previously offered us Melissa P. and I Am Love.
A Bigger Splash stars Tilda Swinton, who worked with the director on I Am
Love, as a world-famous rock star whose retreat on the idyllic volcanic island
of Pantelleria with her partner Paul (Matthias Schoenaerts) gets interrupted by
the sudden arrival of an old flame played by Ralph Fiennes, who brings his
daughter Penelope (Dakota Johnson) along for the ride.
A Bigger Splash opens
in New York and Los Angeles on May 4th, before expanding on May 13.
Rock legend Marianne
Lane is recuperating on the volcanic island of Pantelleria with her partner
Paul when iconoclast record producer and old flame Harry unexpectedly arrives
with his daughter Penelope and interrupts their holiday, bringing with him an
A-bomb blast of nostalgia from which there can be no rescue.
A BIGGER SPLASH is a sensuous
portrait of desire, jealousy and rock and roll, under the Mediterranean sun.
