StudioCanal
and producer David Heyman have finally locked down Paul King to return and both
co-write and direct the second installment in the soon to be movie franchise,
about a clumsy but good-hearted bear and his many adventures. King directed and
co-wrote with Hamish McColl (Johnny English Reborn) the first movie, which
premiered to critical and commercial success earlier in the year.
For
the sequel, King will write the script with Simon Farnaby, who starred in
King's only other feature length project prior to Paddington, a comedy titled
Bunny And The Bull.
Ben Whishaw
voiced Paddington in the movie, and as such he is expected to return, as are Sally Hawkins, Hough
Bonneville, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin, and Julie Walters.
