Powers Boothe (Sin City, Deadwood) has landed a
recurring role in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.LD. third season. The actor will
play Gideon Malick, an infamous man whose true allegiances are a mystery.
"Gideon is incredibly menacing
and in him we have a character that even the stone-cold Grant Ward would
fear," executive producer and Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb says. "Only
someone of Powers’ caliber could deliver the type of ominous and powerful
performance we needed."
It's worth pointing out that this
isn't the first Marvel role Boothe has had. The actor previously played a member
of the World Security Council in Joss Whedon's 2012 The Avengers. Is it the
same character? We will have to wait to find out.
