Eve Hewson, the
daughter of U2 frontman Bono has been cast to play Maid Marian in Otto Bathurst
(Peaky Blinders) Robin Hood: Origins, opposite Kingsman: The Secret Service
breakout star, Taron Egerton.
In Robin Hood: Origins the titular character "returns
from fighting in The Crusades and finds that
Sherwood Forest is rife with corruption and evil. He forms a band of outlaws
and they take matters into their own hands."
The 24 year-old actress has a short but interesting
body of work. She has appeared in such films as This Must Be the Place, Blood
Ties, Enough Said, and most recently Bridge of Spies, but she also had a role
on Cinemax's The Knick.
Robin Hood: Origins was written by Joby Harold, who
also penned Guy Ritchie's Knights Of The Round Table: King Arthur, which stars
Charlie Hunnam, Jude Law, Katie McGrath, Annabelle Wallis, Astrid
Bergès-Frisbey, Eric Bana, Djimon Hounsou. Mikael Persbrandt, David Beckam,
Hermione Corfield, and opens on July 22, 2016.
