Warner Bros. has
announced that Christopher Nolan's next project is scheduled to arrive in
theaters on July 21, 2017. The studio neglected to give any other information
away such as title, cast, genre, or brief description.
The untitled project
falls right amid Warner Bros. DC universe, between Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman
on June 23 and Zack Snyder's Justice League Part One on November 17, but I would
not read too much into it. I don't think Nolan is about to dive back into the
superhero craze, nor do I think he will steal the Batman director's chair from
underneath Ben Affleck bum, who is poised the star, co-write, and direct the new
standalone Dark Knight film. It's worth pointing out that Affleck's Batman
doesn't have a release date yet, and I personally don't think Warner will
shuffle their slate to accommodate it, unless it makes sense story wise.
Whatever Nolan's
movie may end up being it will go up against Pitch Perfect 3, an untitled DreamWorks
feature film, and Luc Besson's Valerian.
