I'm not opposed to remakes,
reboots, or long lost sequels, but even I have to admire the size of Michael
Bay's Platinum Dunes production company, Peter Gruber's Mandalay Pictures, and
Universal's gigantic golden balls in deciding to remake one of the most
classic, and seminal horror films of all times, Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds.
According to Variety, Daylight
director Diederik Van Rooijen has been tapped to helm the remake, which in
theory should just be an updated version of Daphne Du Maurier's short story
that served as inspiration for Hitchcock's masterpiece.
