While just about all superheroes in Marvel's Cinematic
Universe will be choosing one of two sides and fight for it in the upcoming Captain
America: Civil War, one will stand aside and remain neutral.
In a recent interview, Marvel Studios President Kevin
Feige offered some details about where in Civil War does T'Challa, aka Black
Panther, the King of Wakanda fit.
"In the case of “Civil War,” we needed a third
party, we needed a character who wasn’t on either Captain America or Iron Man’s
side, which is why we went, “You know what? We’re doing a Black Panther movie,
but it would actually be smart to have him fill this role we need in Civil War
and introduce him here first."
Played by Chadwick Boseman, T'Challa will appear fully
costumed in Captain America: Civil War, which opens on May 6, 2016.
